Cape Town – South Africa recorded 566 new Covid-19 infections on Monday after 14 403 tests were conducted, said the National Institute For Communicable Diseases (NICD).
This increase represents a positivity rate of 3.9%.
A further 9 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 99 890.
“14 403 tests were conducted in the last 24hrs, with 566 new cases, which represents a 3.9% positivity rate. Today @HealthZA reports 4 deaths in the past 24–48 hrs. Total fatalities are 99 890 to date,” NICD said in a statement.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic in the country now stands at 3 704 784.
The majority of cases reported in the last 24 hours were from Gauteng with 233 newly recorded cases, followed by Western Cape (140), and KwaZulu-Natal(117).
