Cape Town – South Africa recorded 15 465 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the country’s cumulative number of Covid-19 cases to 3 308 074, the National Department of Health said on Sunday.
A total number of 50 377 tests were conducted, with a positivity rate of 30.7%.
The department said three deaths were reported, bringing the total to 90 348 deaths since the virus’s outbreak in March last year.
“As of today the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases identified in SA is 3 308 074 with 15 465 new cases reported. Today 3 deaths have been reported bringing the total to 90 348 deaths. The cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 3 010 513 with a recovery rate of 91.0%,” the department said in a statement.

KwaZulu-Natal continued to lead, with 4 135 new infections, followed by Gauteng (3 582) and the Western Cape (2 849).
At the least was the Nothern Cape with 337 new recorded cases.
