Gqeberha – A 28-year-old man from New Brighton is in police custody after he allegedly murdered his elderly father Monday afternoon, October 31, in Dubula Street.
According to South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the son stabbed his father.
“It is alleged that at about 12:45 police were informed that Mpumelelo Sizani (71) was fatally stabbed by his son after a quarrel between them. The suspect lived with his father. The elderly Sizani sustained three stab wounds in his chest.”
According to the statement by SAPS, the suspect was arrested at the scene and is being detained on a charge of murder.
He is expected to appear in the New Brighton magistrate court soon.
