Cape Town – There is a sigh of relief following the assassination of an alleged “Boko Haram” gang leader in Mamelodi, Tshwane on Tuesday by a gunman known only as “John Wick”.
Given “Nkunzi” Mnguni, 35, died in a hail of bullets on the N4 highway near Diamond Hill Toll Plaza, police confirmed.
“A black VW Polo was shot at by the occupants of a silver Mercedes-Benz. The driver of the Polo was declared dead on the scene, while the injured passenger was taken to hospital. This particular deceased was the number one wanted suspect in our investigations into the Boko Haram activities that were happening in Mamelodi,” police said.

Mnguni allegedly went into hiding after the murders of two of his fellow gang members at the popular Santorini Pub in Mamelodi West in August.
Mamelodi Community Policing Forum leader Eddie Mnguni told SABC News that the deceased had been terrorising the community for a long time.
“It’s a relief and excitement to some of the people who have suffered under this organisation,” the report quoted Mguni as saying.
Social media was abuzz with hashtags Mamelodi, Boko Haram and John Wick, as tweeps weighed in on the incident.

Why are most assuming That John Wick wa ko Mamelodi is eliminating gangsters ? Guys, this is not a movie.
When you’re a gangster who plays with real guns, then you face REAL consequences. These dudes are most likely at war busy killing each other.

Police squashed rumours that there was a “John Wick” in Mamelodi.
“There has not, in recent times, been any reports of gang-related murders in Mamelodi since the deployment of the Task Team as well as Visible Policing members. This indicates that the measures that we have put in place to stabilise gang-related crime are starting to bear fruits,” said the police.
