Cape Town – Gauteng police have reportedly launched a manhunt after 15 armed robbers stormed Lakeside Mall in Benoni on Wednesday afternoon and robbed a store.
A video of the incident was shared on social media.
The robbers could be seen in the video fleeing the mall with their loot while firing shots at the mall’s entrance. Three getaway cars waited for them outside.
The robbers were later seen stuffing bags of stolen goods into the cars.

In a statement, ER24 said that the incident left a man with minor gunshot wounds to his buttocks and a woman with minor gunshot wounds to her chest.
Both patients were treated and taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

It remained unclear what was taken but the footage showed a large bag containing items being left behind.
“No arrests have been made yet. A case of business robbery and attempted murder has been opened for investigation,” News24 quoted Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo as saying.
