Cape Town – A British mother of four was reportedly killed in a freak shooting accident during her visit to Johannesburg.
Reports indicated that Fatima Lambat Issa, 47, was on her dream holiday and was visiting family and friends in Johannesburg when she was shot dead.
It remained unclear how the incident occurred but anti-crime advocate Yusuf Abramjee initially tweeted that the firearm was discharged by a relative who was cleaning it at the time, and forgot it was loaded.
But he later alleged the pistol “went off accidentally when a family member was showing it to a third person”.

The South African said that paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call, “but they could not save the Leicester resident after arriving in Meyersdal”.
A police investigation was now under way, the report said.
Fatima’s brother Ebrahim Lambat confirmed the sudden death of his sister on Facebook and wrote: Request duas [prayer] for my sister Fatima Lambat Issa, who has returned to the mercy of Allah.
According to Metro, Fatima’s husband Fayaz was preparing to fly out to Africa with his son Huzaifah, 21.
A source told The Sun: “This has come as a total shock for the family.
“Fatima was a much-loved mother of four enjoying a holiday with family in South Africa but she has somehow been shot dead.”
A statement from Leicester College where Fatima taught said: “Everyone at The City of Leicester College is deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic passing of our colleague and friend Fatima Issa. We all wish her family courage and peace during this time.”
