Cape Town – The South African Weather Service (Saws) has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the northwest, are expected to bring damaging winds, heavy lightning, and hail.

This could result in localised damage to infrastructure, vehicles, livestock, and power surges, posing risks to life.

Rain is also predicted for inland areas on Wednesday and Thursday.
Saws emphasised the importance of early warnings, which can help communities prepare for severe weather and minimise damage.
