Cape Town — A seventh suspect was arrested and made his first court appearance in connection to the Lusikisiki massacre that saw the death of 18 people.
Police confirmed that a 46-year-old suspect, Mzukisi Ndamase, appeared in the Lusikisiki Magistrate’s Court on Thursday following a lengthy police investigation into the matter.
His appearance comes after seven other suspects linked to the case ditched their bail applications.

Ndamase entered the court under heavy police guard from the Ebongweni maximum security prison, where he is serving a life sentence for murder and robbery.
He elected to conduct his defence, against the court’s persuasions, and decided not to apply for bail.
According to IOL, the motive for the horror killings are not known at this stage.
The six accused include murder parolee Siphosoxolo Myekethe, 45, Zenande Paya, 38, Mawethu Nomdlembu, 36, Aphiwe “AP” Ndende, 25, Lwando Antony Abi, 33, and Bonga Hintsa, 32. All accused currently remain in polcie custody after they had abandoned their bail applications.
The case against all accused has been remanded to 26 November 2024 for further investigations.
