Durban — A seven-year-old girl tragically lost her life in a road accident in Durban that occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, while she was on her way to school.
The accident took place near Parlock road in Inanda. When ALS Paramedics arrived on the scene, they found a taxi collided in a rear-end collision with the vehicle carrying children, IOL reported,
“Paramedics quickly triaged the scene and found that the light motor vehicle had seven occupants. Unfortunately a little girl believed to be seven years of age was found unresponsive. Paramedics quickly assessed her however she had sustained multiple injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for her and she was declared deceased on the scene,” ALS spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said.
Jamieson confirmed that there were injuries to five further children who were stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospitals throughput the city, He said the driver of the vehicle was also injured butt he taxi occupants were uninjured.
He said at this stage the events leading up to the collision are unknown however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
