Cape Town — Convicted serial killer and rapist, Sifiso Mkhwanazi, has been sentenced to life in prison after he received six life terms for killing six sex workers.
Earlier this year, Mkhwanazi was found guilty of rape and murder, among many other charges, after he had killed six sex workers between April and October 2022, at his father’s panel beating workshop in Johannesburg.
He appeared in court on Wednesday to await his verdict where Judge Cassim Moosa sentenced him to six life sentences and labelled him as a dangerous criminal, eNCA reported.
“The accused is sentenced to undergo imprisonment for an indeterminate period and it is directed that the accused shall be brought before this court upon exploration of a period 30 years to enable this court to reconsider his sentence,” the judge ruled.

According to EWN, Moosa shared findings from the Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital which concluded that Mkhwanazi would likely re-offend were he to be released.
The court heard victim impact statements, which revealed two of his victims were in advanced stages of pregnancy, and Moosa condemned the inhumanity of the crimes committed, saying his actions warranted a severe punishment.
He will begin to serve his sentence on Wednesday.
