Cape Town – A 29-year-old man who was reportedly an employee at the Menlyn Park Shopping Mall in Pretoria became the second person to have fallen to their death at the mall in a month.
The incident happened on Sunday.
According to the General Manager of the mall, Nisha Kemraj, emergency services were called after the Sunglass store employee fell from one of the upper levels at the Cavendish Court at around about 09:45 on August 7, reported SowetanLIVE.
“An official investigation is under way, and Menlyn Park Centre Management is fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate circumstances around the incident. All procedures and protocols are being followed,” the report quoted Kemraj as saying.

On arrival on the scene, Emer-G-Med Paramedics found the man in a critical condition, reported IOL.
He was treated by Advance Life Support Paramedics before being airlifted to the hospital, the report said.
The report said the man succumbed to his injuries a short while later.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello, the victim was declared dead at the hospital.
An inquest docket was opened for investigation at Brooklyn police station, the report said.
A similar incident happened on July 7 when a 31-year-old customer also fell at Cavendish Court and later died in hospital.
