Cape Town – Authorities have brought in technology, as the search for the lioness on the loose in Gauteng area continues.
Early this month, an extensive search was launched after a lion on the loose was spotted around the Hennops area in Gauteng.
According to Arthur Crewe from the Strategic Response and Rescue Unit, there was no confirmation from where the lion escaped, IOL reported.
Crewe said the lion was last spotted by a security officer on patrol on the 511 in the Hennops area.

Crewe also said that the lioness was believed to have been spotted in the same area as the first sighting on the border between Gauteng and the North West, reported TimesLIVE.
“It seems to be very much in the same vicinity as the first sighting, so the guys are waiting for more sightings, but there are daily operations. She is obviously close to the water,” the report quoted Crewe as saying.
He said that no attacks have been reported, however, operations are in place with the team using technology including drones to safely capture the animal, the report said.
