Cape Town – Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber has pledged support for an investigation by the Department of International Relations and Co-operation (Dirco) into allegations that South African consul-general Andrew Tsepo Lebona in Dubai sold visas and passports to UAE citizens.
The Sunday Times reported that Lebona committed security breaches, including issuing a diplomatic passport to his son and engaging in business dealings in the UAE.
In a post on X, Schreiber said that affected visas would be cancelled.

According to The Citizen, Lebona has been recalled to South Africa to explain allegations of misconduct.
