Brussels – A Belgian armed robber who escaped a Brussels jail has been arrested in Conakry, capital of the west African country of Guinea, police said on Friday.
Ibrahim Akhlal, 27, escaped from St Gilles prison in the Belgian capital in 2020, where he was serving a total of 21 years for a series of hold-ups.
He is also now wanted by Dutch authorities after being accused of taking part in a spectacular 14-million-euro gold heist in Amsterdam in May 2021.
