This marks the second suspension in recent months, with a previous halt in November due to disputes over feeder routes, The Citizen reported.
Transport MMC Kenny Kunene acknowledged concerns from transport stakeholders and assured that the city is engaging with Soweto taxi operators to find a resolution.
“Some transport stakeholders have raised issues relating to feeder routes. We are engaging with them to establish the cause of the problem. We apologise for the inconvenience,” said Kunene, according to the report.
“The City will meet with the Soweto taxi operators to find solutions to the concerns raised by members of the taxi associations.”
