Cape Town – The fraud and corruption case involving former ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe and his co-accused has been postponed to June.
He, along with his wife, business associate, and several officials from the Gauteng Agriculture and Rural Development Department, faces charges related to a R27 million tender awarded to Mabe’s company, Enviro-Mobi, in 2017, The Citizen reported.
The tender was for supplying waste pickers in Ekurhuleni with three-wheeler vehicles, but only a few were delivered, with many suffering mechanical issues.
It is alleged that Mabe’s company lacked the necessary expertise, yet payments were made to Enviro-Mobi, and funds were later transferred to Mabe, his family, and associates.
According to eNCA, Mabe says he resigned as a director of Enviro Mobi before the tender was awarded.
