Cape Town – A prosecutor reportedly appeared in the Upington regional court on Wednesday for allegedly raping his partner, who is a police officer, in front of their two-year-old daughter over the weekend.
The 36-year-old accused, who works at the same court, faces several charges including one for compelling a child to witness a sexual offence, TimesLIVES reported.
“It is alleged that on November 13 2022 in Paballelo, the prosecutor assaulted, raped and sexually assaulted his 29-year-old partner, who is a member of the police service, in front of their two-year-old daughter,” National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Mojalefa Senokoatsane was quoted as saying by the publication.

The accused remains in police custody until his next court appearance next week on Tuesday, reported Algoa FM.
He faces two counts of rape, one of sexual assault and one for contravening the Domestic Violence Act of 1998 for ignoring a protection order and another charge for compelling a child to witness a sexual offence, the report said.
