Cape Town – A 35-year-old man from Jane Furse in Limpopo has been arrested in connection with the rape and murder of a 37-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter.
“The police were notified of a murder from Willows Clinic. They rushed there and found a 37-year-old woman with stab wounds on the neck,” said police spokesperson Brig Hlulani Mashaba
The woman succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased’s sister reported that before her death, the victim revealed that she and her daughter had been stabbed by the suspect, who is believed to be a prophet.
The daughter was discovered dead in their home, showing signs of rape.
“On searching the house, the deceased’s five-year-old younger brother was found tied with tape in his room.” .
The motive for the killings is unknown, but it is alleged that the woman used to consult the suspect, who practiced as a prophet.
The suspect has been arrested and detained at Hoedspruit police station.
