Cape Town – The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is set to host the signing ceremony of the Electoral Code of Conduct by political parties and independent candidates participating in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections.
This event, scheduled for Thursday, signifies a public commitment by contestants to abide by the Electoral Code of Conduct.
Additionally, the IEC will conduct a public draw to determine the order of contesting parties on the ballot papers.
Last month, the IEC provided lists of independent and political party candidates for inspection, allowing parties to revise their lists and address any conflicts.
Despite some candidates appearing on multiple party lists, the final list of candidates will be published by the Commission on April 10, 2024.
Voters are reminded to cast their ballots only at their designated voting stations.
President Cyril Ramaphosa previously announced that the General National and Provincial Elections will take place on May 29, 2024.
