Cape Town – Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has dismissed social media claims alleging that foreign nationals and South Africans are collaborating in a syndicate to kill people for their body parts.
The allegations, widely circulated on social media, claim that organised criminals rob vehicles and gain entry into homes under false pretenses before killing occupants and removing their body parts while they are still alive.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe described these claims as baseless and condemned the spreading of such fake news.

“One of our biggest threats at the moment is fake news. We strongly condemn the spreading of fake news, unverified information, rumours or threats as this seeks to cause panic and confusion, and in some instances incite possible violence. We urge the members of the public to fact-check first before sharing anything on social media platforms.
“Those who are found to be sharing inflammatory messages will be charged accordingly. We, therefore, urge prompt reporting of these incidents to ensure that law enforcement deals with such issues,” Hadebe said.
