Cape Town — The Acting Provincial Commissioner of South African Police Services (SAPS) in Mpumalanga Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, has assigned experts to determine the death of two Eskom contract workers in Ermelo.
Two contract workers were shot and killed on Thursday around 8am and police are now on the hunt for the suspects responsible for the heinous crime.
“According to information, the victims, aged 37 and 40 were reportedly taking a vehicle for a service in one of the mechanic’s workshop when they met their untimely death,” Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said.
It is alleged that the two men dropped a vehicle at Thuisville in Ermelo and used another car as they returned. During this time, the two men were attacked by the assailants.

Mdhluli added that the details and circumstances of the incident are still being investigated and police confirmed that a lifeless body of one of the victims as found inside the car, while another body was found outside the vehicle.
“The SAPS members also found some empty cartridges at the scene. The motive behind the killing is unknown at the moment,” Mdhluli added.
Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi has reassured the public that the team of investigators has been assigned to probe the incident and the members will be working hard to bring the perpetrators to justice.
