Cape Town – Police in the North West Province have launched a manhunt after the bodies of a couple aged 42 and 48 were found in bushes in Dithakong East village, outside Mahikeng lying just about 100 metres apart.
In a statement, police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said that the couple was last seen alive on Thursday at the boyfriend’s place in Mapetla Section, Settlopo Village.
They were reported missing on Sunday.

“The first body of a man aged, 48, was found at about 13:00 on Sunday, 19 June 2022. Two days later, the 42-year-old girlfriend’s body was spotted by a member of the community at about 09:00, and alerted the police.
“Investigation into the matter revealed that a Toyota Quantum vehicle, belonging to the boyfriend, is still missing,” said Mokgwabone.
No arrests have been made.
The police have pleaded with anyone with information regarding the incident to report it to their nearest police station.
