Cape Town – A Bolt e-hailing driver is reportedly set to appear in court on Tuesday after he was arrested last week by Honeydew police officers following allegations of rape.
According to EWN, police were investigating four cases of sexual assault against the driver, with two of the cases linking the same man to a rape case back in January.
“When we tried to check into what might have happened, we found that in January we already had cases and now we have four cases,” the report quoted the police as saying.
Last week a client claimed that her friend had allegedly been raped by a driver of the e-hailing giant.

The client took to Twitter to share a picture of the alleged rapist and claimed that he strangled her friend “half to death and took her virginity”.
“A Bolt driver raped my friend last night, he strangled her half to death and took her virginity. Bolt doesn’t care about our safety, their Instagram page is filled with people complaining about assault and they have done nothing about it,” said the Twitter user.
Following the tweet, radio personality, Anele Mdoda, took to social media to take Bolt to task.
Anele shared a lengthy video clip of her 947 FM’s breakfast show, Anele And The Club, with co-host Frankie Du Toit, engaging on the alleged rape incident.
Anele said that incidents by Bolt drivers were reported every week on social media platforms and nothing was being done about it.
