Cape Town – Police in Gauteng are reportedly investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after a 16-year-old boy allegedly lost control of a car he was driving and hit a cyclist.
The cyclist was reportedly on his way home from work when the incident occurred at Pongola and Strydom streets in Birchleigh North, Kempton Park on Friday.
The vehicle overturned and landed on its roof in a residential property.
The pedestrian sustained serious serious injuries and required advanced life support intervention.

“One male patient sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support Intervention. Once the patient was stabilised, he was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
“It’s alleged that a 16-year-old boy was driving the vehicle alone when he lost control and hit a cyclist, the vehicle ended up in a residential house,” Arrive Alive said in a statement.
The teenager escaped unhurt.
He was “arrested and transferred to a juvenile centre”, News24 reported.
