Cape Town – Police in Cape Town were reportedly left in shock after their colleague was found murdered in Somerset West in the early hours of Christmas day.
According to IOL, the police officer sustained bullet and stab wounds.
“The 33-year-old police constable who had worked until the early hours of Sunday had allegedly suffered stab and gunshot wounds.
“His official firearm was taken and the state vehicle he was driving was found some metres from the body,” the report quoted police spokesperson Brigadier Novella Potelwa as saying
A News24 report said that the name of the deceased officer will be released once his family has been informed.
The report said that the Hawks were investigating, adding that police were questioning an injured man.
