Durban – Two people have died after succumbing to their injuries in a head-on collision that saw their car set alight.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue, the incident occurred on the N2 Zinkwazi where a head-on collision between two vehicles took place.
The medical service and rescue provider reported that the driver and passenger of one vehicle were injured.
“The driver of one vehicle is entrapped with serious injuries and is currently under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics while being extricated by KDM Fire Department.
“The passenger was fortunate to escape with moderate injuries.”
IPSS Medical Rescue reported, however, that the driver and the passenger of the other vehicle involved in the collision did not survive the crash.
“The driver and passenger of the second vehicle have succumbed to their injuries, and the vehicle has caught alight following the collision. The fire has been contained by Rural Metro Fire Department.”
