Cape Town – A woman who allegedly jumped from the Howick Falls viewing point on Tuesday was rescued after a grueling six-hour mission by emergency teams.
Midlands EMS crews, along with Advanced Life Support and SAPS Search and Rescue, responded swiftly to the scene after receiving reports of the incident.
“Upon arrival, crews were met by witnesses who described the incident. Local authorities were immediately alerted.

The woman, critically injured and suspended in the trees, was found in urgent need of advanced life support.
Midlands EMS, working in conjunction with SAPS Search and Rescue and Mountain Rescue, set up a rope system to hoist her back to safety.
“Midlands EMS Advanced Life Support paramedics, along with a doctor and trauma surgeons who were on the scene, assisted in the rescue operation.
Once safely hoisted to the top, the woman was stabilised by trauma surgeons and additional EMS paramedics. She was then transported to a Level 1 trauma hospital for further medical care.
