Johannesburg — A 44-year-old Brazilian woman was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday for attempting to smuggle cocaine into South Africa.
The arrest was made after intelligence operations led police to intercept the drug mule upon her arrival from São Paulo at 1:00 PM.

“She was intercepted by SAPS intelligence and found with cocaine wrapped around her upper body.
“She faces a charge of drug trafficking and will appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate soon.,” said Mathe.
This marks the second arrest involving a similar smuggling method at OR Tambo this week. On Sunday, a Brazilian man was caught with cocaine worth an estimated R1.8 million strapped to his upper torso.
