Cape Town – Police in Christiana, North West, arrested ten suspects on Saturday morning who were allegedly planning to rob fuel stations in Warrenton, Northern Cape.
Acting on a tip-off, a tactical operation was conducted by crime intelligence units and other police teams.
“At 10am, crime intelligence units, together with the Kimberley flying squad and Hartswater highway patrol executed a tactical operation at the identified address in Christiana where 10 suspects were found on the premises,” police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers said.
Authorities seized a pistol, ammunition, housebreaking tools, and a VW Polo belonging to the suspects, who are reportedly from Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.

The suspects are aged between 40 and 65.
Investigations are underway for illegal firearm possession, possession of housebreaking equipment, and immigration law violations.
Northern Cape police commissioner Lieutenant-general Koliswa Otola praised the quick action and highlighted the value of shared intelligence in crime prevention.
