Umhlanga – A truck driver was transported to a hospital after sustaining “critical injuries” when his truck rear-ended another on the N2 near Umhlanga.
IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics were on the scene attending to the two truck drivers involved in the collision.
“On arrival of paramedics it was established that the driver of the one truck was severely entrapped,” IPSS said in a statement.
“The man was stabilised by IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics before being extricated by Durban Metro Fire Department,” it added.
The driver was then transported to hospital under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic after he sustained “critical injuries”.
IPSS reported that the driver of the truck that was rear-ended escaped with no injuries.
