Cape Town – An Alberton man, Freddie Stapelberg, appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Monday on two charges of premeditated murder for the killings of his girlfriend, Nadine Terblanche, and her nine-year-old son Ruandré in November.
Stapelberg’s gardener, Pardon Danhire, 37, was also arrested at the crime scene.
The bail application for Stapelberg was postponed to February 7, while Danhire, who abandoned his bail application, is scheduled to appear in court on January 24.

According to Times Live, Terblanche’s mother declined to comment, saying that the police instructed them not to speak to the media.
“The police said we must not talk to the media,” the report quoted the grieving mother as saying.

Initially depicted as engaged to Terblanche and presented as the one who found the bodies in earlier articles by Alberton Record, Stapelberg is now the focus of the investigation, The Citizen reported.
Legal authorities are looking into his potential involvement in the double homicide.
