Cape Town – Police in the Eastern Cape reportedly arrested a 64-year-old pensioner on Saturday after he shot dead his 35-year-old son in Kwanobuhle near Kariega, formerly Uitenhage.
According to IOL, the two had an argument around 18:55.
During the argument, the father allegedly went to his bedroom, returned, and shot his son twice in the chest and left arm with his licensed firearm.

“The victim ran out into the street and collapsed. He was taken to hospital by a resident but succumbed to his injuries,” said Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu as quoted by the report.
Sowetan Live reported that the pensioner’s second son, 39, hit his father over the head with a brick after hearing about the incident.
The pensioner was arrested in the hospital after receiving treatment.
He was scheduled to appear in the Kariega magistrate’s court on Monday on charges of murder.
