Cape Town – Police in Gauteng have reportedly arrested a 26-year-old nanny after she kidnapped her employer’s 18-months old child on Friday over her unpaid salary.
According to The Voice of Tembisa FM, the incident occurred in Tembisa Leboeng Section on Thursday Afternoon.
The 26-year-old kidnapped the toddler and left a 3-year-old baby girl unattended after her employer failed to pay her salary.
It is said that the employer owed the nanny R4 000.

The police tracked down the suspect’s cellphone signal. It led them to Lawley Police Station in Soweto, where the nanny’s brother had taken the toddler, as he stood firm against the kidnapping of the baby, reported The South African.
The nanny was detained at Tembisa Police Station, pending a court appearance.
Her 4-year-old child was taken to a place of safety.
