Cape Town — Police are on the hunt for two suspects alleged to have shot and killed a 27-year-old male outside the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Mavela Masondo, confirmed the deceased person was a witness in an existing case, Newzroom Afrika reported.
“The case was set for trial today. The information that we got is that two witnesses in this case were standing outside the court when they were accosted by two armed suspects who started shooting at them without saying a word. For now, we have launched a manhunt for those two suspects and we have opened a case of murder,” Masondo said.
“Police are appealing to anyone who might have information that can help in the investigation or assist in the apprehension of the suspects to please call the nearest police station or call crime stop on 08600 10111,” Masondo added.
The man who was killed was alleged to be a pastor.
