Cape Town – Charlene Naicker, 38, the mother of two children who were killed in a shooting in Durban last week has reportedly died in hospital of injuries from the same incident.
Naicker was about to serve dinner when gunmen entered their home and started shooting.
They shot her and her two children, Chazlyn, 2, and son, Ainzlee, 14, who were inside the house with her during the incident.
Her other three children, aged five, seven, and eleven, were outside, in the yard at the time of the incident, but escaped unharmed.
Naicker was shot six times in the thigh and stomach and she had been in the intensive care unit where she kept whispering Chazlyn and Ainzlee’s names.

She had no idea her two children had died as a result of the shooting. Her family couldn’t bear the thought of telling her.
The funeral of her two children took place this past weekend.
IOL reported that Naicker’s family learned of her death at around 06:00 on Monday.
“I am still trying to process everything,” the report quoted Naicker’s sister Samantha Windvogel as saying.
Windvogel broke the news to Naicker’s three other children.
“They are children. It will hit them soon. I look at them and think, how can this be? How did this happen?
I am sitting here thinking, what do I do? I have to console my mother. We recently held funerals for two of our loved ones and have to plan another. Where do we go from here?,” said Windvogel according to Times Live.
The motive for the heinous attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been made.
