Cape Town – A three-month-old infant and an 11-year-old girl were shot dead at their home in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng on Friday while their mother sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to a statement by ER24, the two children were declared dead on the scene by the South African Police Services (SAPS).
The 30-year-old mother was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

“A 3-month-old baby girl and an 11-year-old girl have died in a shooting incident at a home in Bophelong, Vanderbijlpark last night. The mother also suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and is in a critical condition,” ER24 said.
Another child believed to be around 5-years-old was found unharmed after she hid under blankets on a bed in another room.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remained unknown.
According to eNCA, police were still investigating, and no arrests had been made.
