Cape Town – The search for a missing North West teenage boy has reportedly come to a tragic end after his body was found in Cashan, Rustenburg, three after his disappearance.
The family of Tshiamo Masikane, 17, had embarked on a frantic search for their son, sharing a missing person poster on social media.
Reports indicated that the was last seen on Sunday, January 1 at his home in Lafaragatlhe, Rustenburg.
Ground News reported that a passerby found Masikane’s badly decomposed body hanging from a tree on January 21.
Masikane’s family used a private laboratory to do DNA testing for quicker results which confirmed the body was that of their beloved son, the report said.
North West police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Adele Myburgh said the police did not suspect foul play, reported News24.
Police were still investigating the death to find out exactly what transpired, the report said.
“A judicial inquiry is still happening to determine the cause of death,” the report quoted Myburgh as saying.
