Cape Town – Two foreign national females were arrested on January 1 by Kriel police for the abduction of a four-month-old baby girl, Lalicia Magumbu, missing since December 28.
The police found the missing baby and two other children, a three-year-old boy, and an eight-month-old girl, with the suspects in a shack in Ogies, Witbank News reported.
The suspects claimed to have stolen the babies from Springs in September, Marble Hall in April, and Kriel recently.
The suspects will face abduction charges in the Kriel Magistrate’s Court.
The incident occurred when the women approached Lalicia’s mother at her home, promising to donate food for the baby.
“According to information, the women approached Lalicia Magumbu’s mother at her home in Thubelihle outside Kriel and promised to donate food for the baby,” police spokesperson Brig Selvy Mohlala said.

“The two are said to have indicated that before they could donate, they needed to take the child to the clinic for immunisation.”
However, the baby was not returned, and the family reported the incident to the police.
Police are seeking assistance in locating the relatives of the three-year-old boy and eight-month-old girl.
