Cape Town – The Pretoria High Court has denied former minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s request to access the investigation diary in her corruption case.
She sought disclosure of section C of the police docket, arguing it could aid her defence.
Facing 12 corruption charges and one of money laundering, she is accused of receiving R4.5 million in bribes while serving as defence minister.
Judge Mokhine Mosopa ruled that her request was speculative and failed to demonstrate the diary’s relevance to her case.
“The applicant failed to demonstrate the risk of such impediments, in my considered view, and did not establish a prima facie fact indicating the relevance of disclosing the C-section of the police docket,” he said.
