Cape Town – The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) says its founding president, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, is responding well to treatment in the hospital.
The IFP said this during a media briefing in Durban following a national executive committee meeting.
Despite positive progress, Buthelezi remains in intensive care after being in the hospital for two weeks.
“I can say without any hesitation, from the latest information I got this morning – umntwana WakwaPhindangene (the prince of KwaPhindangene) in hospital,” EWN quoted IFP leader Velenkosini Hlabisa as saying.

Meanwhile, s group of 18 leaders from the IFP who had signed a petition aimed at removing Hlabisa as the party presdient, have publicly acknowledged their error and apologised.
“Let me assure our members and South Africa, there is no crisis in the IFP. The Party is solid, strong, and united in its course of service to South Africa,” Hlabisa said.
