Cape Town – Mpumalanga police have arrested a 38-year-old man after he was allegedly caught pushing a trolley with a woman’s body wrapped inside a bag.
The suspect was allegedly caught at the Barberton dumping site where he allegedly intended to dump the 19-year-old woman’s body, police said.
Reports on social media alleged that the woman’s body was “cut into pieces”.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, the man caught the attention of some women who saw him pushing the trolley that seemed to be heavy for him, said the police.
“The women stopped a taxi operator at traffic lights and requested him to assist in investigating. When the suspect saw them, the bag fell from the trolley. The bag was opened by one of the concerned citizens and a woman’s body was allegedly found inside,” Mohlala said in a statement.
