Cape Town – Police in Limpopo are investigating after a 39-year-old man was allegedly stoned to death in Motlolo village on Tuesday night.
This followed the discovery of a decomposing body of a 13-year-old girl in Calbin Mohlala’s home.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said that Kabelo Malatjie left her home on March 24 to attend extra classes at a nearby school but she never returned.
“An immediate search for the victim was conducted at relatives and surrounding villages without success,” said Mojapelo.
On Monday, police were called when neighbours detected an unpleasant odour coming from Mohlala’s home.

“Upon arrival, police forced entry and found a lifeless body of the teenager in a decomposed state and a murder case was opened at Driekop police station,” Mojapelo said.
He added: “Afterwards, the members of the community mobilised to locate the man in whose house the body found. He was subsequently found while hiding in the same village and stoned to death last night at about 19:00.
“Police were called and on arrival at the scene, they found the victim with severe wounds. He was later declared dead by the members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).”
