Cape Town – A man was reportedly caught raping a seven-year-old girl in a bush in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday.
According to a statement posted by Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) on Facebook, a pedestrian heard a child screaming for assistance from a bush. The pedestrian entered the bush and noticed a man fleeing.
“He attempted to pursue the individual but lost sight of him in the dense vegetation.

“The child informed him that the suspect had accosted her in Mawothi – KZN and forced her to follow him to Phoenix where he raped her,” said Rusa.
An extensive search for the suspect was conducted, however, with no luck.
The incident was reported to the Phoenix police for further investigation.
