Cape Town – A man was arrested by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) for allegedly stealing money from a cash-in-transit van that had been previously robbed by unknown assailants.
The arrest came after EMPD officers observed two men walking away from the crime scene with bags filled with money.
The incident occurred at the corner of Sam Molele Drive and Link Road in the Liliba section of Tembisa.

According to IOL, EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said that EMPD officers had responded to the scene of the cash-in-transit heist and noticed a commotion with a crowd of people.
Upon closer inspection, they realised that the cash van had been robbed.

The arrested man was taken to the Rabasotho police station and is facing a charge for possession of goods suspected to be stolen. He is expected to appear in court soon.
