Cape Town – A 43-year-old man has been arrested after he was found in possession of three lions without a permit in Randfontein.
Reports alleged that the lions were kept at a plot in Dennydale Agricultural Holdings.
According to IOL, police were acting on a tip-off when they made the arrest.
“SAPS members from Stock Theft Unit, together with Nature Conservation and Endangered Species, followed up on information received about a man who is in possession of lions.
“The members went to the address given and showed them the lions. They found out that the suspect has been in possession of these lions for more than a year,” the report quoted Randfontein police spokesperson, Sergeant Carmen Hendricks as saying.
