Cape Town – Police in Johannesburg reportedly apprehended a 33-year-old man after he stabbed another man, 30, who tried to stop him from assaulting a woman near the Johannesburg central police station.
According to IOL, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the upper body.
The woman who was assaulted rushed to the police and reported the incident.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital where he was treated and released.
The suspect was arrested and a knife was recovered from him.
“The 33-year-old suspect will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court,” the report said.

Last month, police in Gauteng launched an internal investigation after a video of a police clerk slapping a woman outside a police station went viral on social media.
In the widely shared video, the man could be seen assaulting the woman for allegedly insulting him.
According to Times Live, the man was said to be a clerk at the Kempton Park police station. The woman was a teacher assistant who had been sent to the station for police clearance.
The clerk had allegedly refused to help the woman and a heated argument ensued between the two, resulting in the woman being assaulted.
