Potchefstroom – A 36-year-old man is expected to appear in the Mogwase Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 05 in connection to stand trial for the alleged murder of his 34-year-old brother.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday evening, December 03 after he allegedly strangled his younger brother at their home in Lerome village Moruleng, near Mogwase outside Rustenburg, South African Police Services (SAPS) confirmed in a statement.
According to SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani, reports indicate that the brothers were involved in an argument prior to the murder of the younger brother.

After this information reached the police, they made their way to the scene and found the brother dead upon arrival. The suspect was immediately arrested and charged with murder, as Police investigations continue.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, condemned the incident and urged family members to solve their differences in an amicable way. He commended the Mogwase police for the swift arrest of the suspect.
