Cape Town – KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating after a man reportedly shot a woman before shooting himself at a shopping mall parking lot on Sunday night.
Both were declared dead, and a firearm was recovered at the scene, said KZN VIP Protection Services in a statement.
“Sadly nothing could be done and both patients were declared deceased on scene.
“The male and female are known to each other, a firearm was recovered at the scene of the crime. We express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” read the statement.

According to police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala an inquest and a murder investigation are underway, reported TimesLIVE.
“It is alleged that on October 30 2022 at 6.40pm, the 25-year-old woman was shot and killed by a known suspect while in a parking lot on Palm Boulevard in Umhlanga.
“The suspect was also found with a gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,” Gwala was quoted as saying.
