Cape Town – A 33-year-old man Julio Cohen, 33, of Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, was reportedly arrested last week by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Hawks, for allegedly manufacturing drugs in his house.
Police received a tip about a house where drugs were being manufactured, according to IOL.
A seizure and search warrant was obtained and the police visited Cohen’s house where they discovered a room that was used as a laboratory to process dagga.

“In the yard, 20 dagga trees were found, seven bottles, one paint bucket, one tupperware all containing dry dagga, one cooler box containing dagga oil were seized. The dry dagga weighs 1.7kg and dagga oil weighs 3.16kg,” said Hawks spokesperson Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi as quoted by the report.
Cohen, who was wheelchair-bound, was arrested and taken to court, reported The South African.
He was granted R1 000 bail and his case was rescheduled for July 4, 2022, for further investigations.
