Cape Town – A 24-year-old man has reportedly been arrested for murder following the discovery of human remains stashed inside his refrigerator in Soweto on Saturday.
Reports indicated that the man’s girlfriend, who had visited him, made the gruesome discovery while he was out shopping, and she immediately called for help from neighbours.
“It is reported that the man is a tenant at the back rooms in that yard and his partner discovered the body parts after he had left to go to the shops.
“The body parts will be sent to the forensic science laboratory for identification,” police said, according to The Citizen.

The man reportedly locked himself in his room and attempted to harm himself when the community tried to apprehend him.
He was eventually taken to a hospital in Gauteng, SABC News reported, adding that the body parts may not belong to one person.
He remained under police guard and was expected to appear in court soon.
